CALHOUN, GA—Coming from Ontario, Canada, Michaela Lawrence
began the role of Advent House Chaplain and Adventist Christian Fellowship
director for Georgia-Cumberland Conference Sept. 15, 2009.
“I'm most excited about helping students deepen their relationship
with God, each other, and the larger community within which they live and go to
school,” she says, “Each student has a role to play in God's salvation plan and
I want them to figure out what that means for them, particularly in their
public campus environs.”
Lawrence holds a Master of Divinity degree from Andrews University as well as a Master of Arts in English Literature from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has served as a teacher, young adult ministry director,
dean’s assistant, and worship leader at churches and schools in the United States and Canada.
In her free time, Lawrence enjoys singing, writing,
rollerblading, cycling, and spending quality face-to-face time with friends and
family.
