Dixie Jean, Harold's wife/soul mate/kindred-spirit since they exchanged wedding vows in 1975, is a Registered Nurse and entrepreneur with her own business. Harold and "Jeannie" became sweethearts while attending Georgia-Cumberland Academy (1969-1973). Jeannie lovingly labors to build balance and perspective into to Harold's twisted work ethic. Their daughters, Stacey & Amy, (both Occupational Therapists, grown and on-their-own), are allied with their mother in bringing love, laughter, adventure, and memories to the family's journey together.
Harold describes himself as a 10th generation Georgian; born, bred, rooted, and descended through a long line of independent-minded, self-sufficient farmer-soldiers who have fought and farmed their way through whatever came between them and freedom. He loves all things "Southern", including the land, flora, fauna, history, heritage, culture, cuisine, language, literature, music, traditions, and the people.
Favorite gospel passages include:
2 Corinthians 5:18-21 - "All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." 2 Corinthians 5: 18-21
