Chester Clark III was ordained into the gospel ministry on July 1, 2017 in Dalton, Ga. Pastor and mentor, Mark Finley gave the ordination message, challenging Clark to “stay true to the character of Jesus and to always maintain the second coming in mind throughout your ministry.” Ed Wright, president, Victor Maddox, vice president for pastoral ministries and evangelism, and Neil Reid, ministerial director for the central region, officiated the service.
Maddox said of Clark's ordination, “The congregation grew and flourished under Chester’s leadership and guidance. You see this by the way the church loves and appreciates Chester’s work and faith.” Like many pastors, Maddox saw the way Clark humbled himself as he operated the church, bringing joy to the community.
In looking back, Clark said “it has been a privilege to have a front row seat to see what God is doing here.” He appreciates that his church family and friends have encouraged him during his five year ministry in Dalton.
Clark had a growing conviction into ministry that tugged at his heart until he made the decision to study theology. He first served as associate pastor at the Moreno Valley Church in California after college. He then worked as a Bible teacher at Ouachita Hills Academy for fifteen years. He has a passion for evangelism and would later accept an opportunity to serve as an officer of Adventist-Laymen’s Service and Industries. In 2012, Chester answered the call to pastor the Dalton Church here in Georgia.
In 2010 Chester met Jane. They would marry in Dalton one year later and have been blessed with daughter Ella.
